Stress is your body’s way of responding to any kind of threat. There are two kind of stress: acute stress, which is the body instant response to any situation that seems dangerous. And chronic stress, which is caused by stressful situation or events that last over a long period of time.

Occasional acute stress is almost unavoidable in our live, since it’s a natural response to a dangerous situation. When you feel threatened, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which rouse the body for emergency action. Your heart pounds faster, muscles tighten, blood pressure rises, breath quickens, and your senses become sharper. These physical changes increase your strength and stamina, speed up your reaction time, and enhance your focus, preparing you to either fight or flee from the danger. The body recovers quickly when the danger is passed.

Chronic stress exhausts and imbalances the nervous system and can have a serious impact on health, including stomach and digestive disorders, aches and pains, skin problems, depression, anxiety, Heart disease, weight problems, reproductive issues, thinking and memory problems and other psychological disorders. From that reason is important to recognize the symptoms and of stress and deal with it.

On average, a child laughs 400 times a day, while and adult only laughs fifteen times. This is a problem, because doctors think that laughing regularly helps prevent diseases by reducing stress and that's no joke.

Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain. Laughter can also stimulate circulation and aid muscle relaxation, both of which can help reduce some of the physical symptoms of stress.
