These physical changes increase your strength and stamina, speed up your reaction time, and enhance your focus, preparing you to either fight or flee from the danger. The body recovers quickly when the danger is passed.

Chronic stress exhausts and imbalances the nervous system and can have a serious impact on health, including stomach and digestive disorders, aches and pains, skin problems, depression, anxiety, Heart disease, weight problems, reproductive issues, thinking and memory problems and other psychological disorders.
